Choosing the right leather quality and surface range depends on your project, your pattern, and the intended use of the leather. The guidelines below will help you determine both which quality and which surface range best suit your needs.

    Which leather quality should you choose?

    Excellent quality
    : hides with very subtle, barely visible micro-imperfections (excluding flank areas).

    Allows for near-full hide usage. Best suited for:

    Good quality: hides with minor to moderate natural imperfections, without limiting overall usability. Ideal for:

    • smaller pattern pieces
    • designs with seams, folds, or layered constructions
